Meet the face
behind the posts
Hi, I’m Katie,
A young adult with big dreams and a crazy work ethic. I'm
a higher education profession and a public relations/ social media professional. I have extensive experiences managing social media, crafting PR campaigns and strategic communications initiatives, planning events, writing copy, and creating digital content.

I currently am pursuing my Masters at the University of Georgia in the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications while working as a graduate resident for University Housing.

Through these experiences, I have found I am passionate about empowering and educating others.
I graduated from Pace University summa cum laude in December 2021 with a B.S. in Public Relations and a double minor in Journalism and Sports Media and Broadcasting. I was awarded as the for academic achievement and commitment to the field of public relations at the Dyson College of Arts and Science's award ceremony. Throughout my time at Pace I was the President of Entrance One Public Relations where I oversaw planning department events, writing newsletters, and creating social media posts. I created a department strategic communications plan, ran a department blog, and crafted the monthly newsletter for two years. Additionally, I was the managing editor of the student newspaper, The Pace Chronicle, where I edited every story on site. In 2020, I wrote 50 plus articles for the publication. In my last two semesters at Pace, I served as a teaching assistant for undergraduate and graduate courses such as Public Relations Campaigns, Writing for PR Copy, Intro to Public Relations, Writing for Advertising, Writing for Organizations etc.,
While I was in College, I held many other jobs as a youth ice hockey coach for the New York Rangers Girls Hockey Program, a travel hockey coach for 8u and 10u with the Western Connecticut Youth Hockey Organization. I was a former editor for College Gym News and worked as a Barista Trainer at Starbucks.
I also finished an internship with Walt Disney World through the Disney College Program in June 2022 where I made magical experiences for guests on Main Street for 50 plus hours weekly.

Additionally, I freelance work with Magas Media Consultants LLC., after serving as an intern in 2020. In 2021, Vice President Jennifer Lee Magas and I spoke at the Ragan Social Media Conference on crafting an engaging newsletter. In 2023, we spoke at the Ragan Social Media Conference on how companies can change their game in the industry with social media leverage.

Through these experiences, I’ve gained leadership management skills, ability to work well under pressure, social media strategy development, effective event planning, and internal communication correspondence.
These skills have influenced the creation of my own personal brand KatieKreates
